Abdul Qaddos Bizenjo resigns as Speaker to become Chief Minister of Balochistan

QUETTA: The Balochistan Awami Party and other parties have agreed on the name of Mir Abdul Qaddos Bizenjo for the new Chief Minister, after which he has also resigned from the post of Speaker.

According to media, Abdul Qaddos Bizenjo has resigned from the post of Speaker of the Provincial Assembly for the Chief Ministership of Balochistan. Thus, Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali will be elected Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly. Earlier, between Sunday and Monday night A meeting of the parliamentary parties of the Provincial Assembly was held at Gah, in which the names of Abdul Qaddos Bizenjo for the new Leader of the House and Jan Muhammad Jamali for the new Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly were agreed upon.

Sources said that important ministries would be given to those BAP assembly members in the next government who were part of the no-confidence motion against Jam Kamal. Opposition to the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), a coalition partner of the Jam Kamal government, has stalled due to opposition to the new government. Consultations are underway to make the ANP part of the next government. The HDP is likely to be included in the next government, while the PTI has been given another ministry in the province, bringing the number of PTI ministers in the province to three.
