Apple’s new operating system will be available to iPhone users on September 18

Every year, Apple updates the iPhone’s operating system (iOS) in which many new features are added.

This year, iOS 17 is being rolled out to iPhone users on September 18, having been first previewed at the company’s annual developer conference in June.

Apple’s new operating system will only be available for iPhone XS or later models and won’t be able to be updated to phones from 2017 or earlier. ) software updates from Apple will no longer be available to you.

This is not an unexpected decision as Apple ends software support for older devices every year.

iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12, 13 and 14 series phones will be able to update to this new operating system.

When the iPhone 15 series phones become available to consumers, they will run the new iOS system by default.

But it should be noted that even after you lose access to the new iOS system, your old iPhone will continue to run on iOS 16 or earlier operating systems, just without the new features.

Many new features are being added in this new operating system but the feature called standby mode is the most special.

This feature will turn the iPhone’s lock screen into a smart home device-like display

With this feature, it will be possible to see the weather, calendar appointments and notifications on the display even when the phone is locked.

This new technology will come in handy when your iPhone is placed on a table and you want to know notifications or other details without having to unlock it.
