ECP should prove its impartiality, Federal Ministers

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan to prove its impartiality.

Federal Information Minister Senator Shibli Faraz, Fawad Chaudhry and Ali Zafar held a joint press conference in Islamabad. Shibli Faraz said that PPP and PML-N have made our culture a culture of money, corruption and use of money has spread in the whole society.

He said that they have damaged the morality of this country. Fawad Chaudhry said that they respect all the institutions including the Election Commission. The institutions show their impartiality by their actions and not by press releases.

The press release of the Election Commission against the Prime Minister is good. No, it is inappropriate for the constitutional body to issue a press release on the statement of the Prime Minister and it will be criticized. Imran Khan always said that the institutions should be neutral in the elections. Imran Khan had said that the Election Commission should ensure transparency in the Senate elections. No, it’s not about being sad, it’s about being ashamed.

Fawad Chaudhry said that it is not correct to get the impression that Returning Officer (RO) Shahbaz Sharif should stand up and greet him, but if the Prime Minister comes, ignore him, the independence and impartiality of the commission should come to the fore. Has said in the press release that if evidence of fraud is presented then audio video evidence is available, it is clearly heard in the audio of Sindh Minister Nasir Shah that take Rs 12 crore, Maryam Nawaz’s speech is that our ticket is sold out, Ali Gilani Fawad Chaudhry said that this is the proof that our female candidate got votes according to the party seats and not the other.

Winning one election and losing one is the proof of rigging. There is no need for the Election Commission to be a sad soul. Yes, the Commission does not even care about the directions of the Supreme Court. I hope that the Election Commission will reconsider its position, will not rely on press releases but will prove its impartiality and independence by its actions, this is in the interest of Pakistan. Yes, the whole government is standing behind the Election Commission role will be placed in front of the nation. It is up to the Election Commission to decide who the 16 members were.

Ali Zafar said that the Election Commission is a constitutional body and it is doing its job. It is also not correct to say that you cannot criticize any body. The Supreme Court had given the Election Commission a chance to use technology in this election. It is our right to criticize what they did not do
