ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission (EC) has convened a special meeting on the allegations leveled by Prime Minister Imran Khan in his address to the nation.
According to sources, the Election Commission of Pakistan has convened a special meeting tomorrow on the statement of the Prime Minister regarding the Election Commission. In his address to the nation, the Prime Minister accused the Election Commission of undermining democracy.
According to sources, the meeting chaired by the Chief Election Commissioner will review the statement of Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Election Commission will issue a response to the statement of the Prime Minister within the constitutional limits.
Prime Minister Imran Khan in his address to the nation had made a statement on the Election Commission to harm democracy. He also slammed the Election Commission for opposing open voting and identifiable ballot papers for the Senate elections in the Supreme Court.
In his address, the Prime Minister said that the Election Commission had saved the vendors in the Senate. Due to the Election Commission, the dignity of democracy in the country has been tarnished.
