TOKYO: Japan has decided to host the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics without foreign spectators this year due to Corona concerns.
The one-year-delayed World Games will now take place from July 23 to August 8, and the Paralympics are scheduled from August 24 to September 5.
The news agency says the Japanese government will not allow spectators from other countries to be thanked, and that the torch rally and opening ceremony will be without spectators.
The organizing committee has also decided to hold the event behind closed doors in the northeastern city of Fukushima. Only game participants and invitees will be able to attend. Authorities do not want more people to gather in Corona’s view.
