ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has announced a long march on March 26 and rejected the government’s proposed 26th amendment.
According to details, a meeting of Pakistan Democratic Movement was held, attended by PDM chief and Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz. Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and former President Asif Ali Zardari participated exclusively through video link.
Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Sherry Rehman, Nayyar Bukhari, Farhatullah Babar, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sanaullah, Pervez Rashid, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Saad Rafique, Ayaz Sadiq and Maryam Aurangzeb attended the meeting. Of

According to sources, the agenda of the meeting chaired by Maulana Fazlur Rehman consisted of two points, Long March and resignation from the assemblies.
According to sources, consultations were held on the strategy of contesting the Senate elections together and the date of the long march was fixed. The PPP informed the meeting about its views on the Senate elections.
Talking to media along with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz, PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that all parties participated in the PDM meeting.
He said that Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has decided to hold a long march on March 26. On March 26, caravans from all over the country will leave for Islamabad. We had said Islamabad, there will be Pindi options, this was the message of Mian Sahib.
Referring to the Senate elections, he said that the PDM would contest the Senate elections jointly. The Senate rejects the government’s proposed 26th constitutional amendment for elections. The resignations will be decided after the Senate elections. We believe in a comprehensive package of electoral reforms. The Speaker will not cooperate with the National Assembly. PTI members are not ready to vote. Our fight is against the undemocratic process, whoever is involved in this process is against it.
Regarding foreign funding, he said that 23 accounts are being hidden so far, Imran Khan cannot be declared honest and trustworthy, the Election Commission should decide the foreign funding case soon. Transparency International called Imran Khan corrupt. Our goal is to get rid of illegitimate government.
He said that tomorrow the entire PDM party would go to Muzaffarabad to celebrate Kashmir Solidarity Day. The PTI government sold Kashmir.
Asked about the resignations, Maryam Nawaz said, “Be courageous and wait.”
