LAHORE  – Former Pakistan skipper Imran Khan – who is now the country’s incumbent prime minister – led Pakistan to the famous World Cup victory on this day in 1992. Pakistan team, that were on verge of getting eliminated from the tournament at one point, ended up as world champions after witnessing many ups and downs throughout the event. The one point in rain-affected group match proved to be the most significant for the 1992 champions as it saved them from getting knocked out in the initial stage.
