BERLIN: German biotechnology company Bioen Tech has expressed hope that experimental results of the corona vaccine in infants and adolescents will be available by September.
According to a report published in the German magazine Spiegel, the vaccine developed by Pfizer was tested on children 6 months and older.
Ugur Sahin, CEO of the company, says that the experimental results for children from 5 to 12 will be available in July and the results for children younger than that will be available by September. Because it takes four to six weeks to test the data. If all goes well, as soon as the data test is completed, we will apply for the approval of this vaccine for all children of different ages listed in different countries.
Earlier this month, BioNTech and Pfizer asked US regulators to approve the vaccine for emergency use in children between the ages of 12 and 15.
The company says it is in the final stages of approval by European regulators for vaccines for children 12 years and older. According to an experimental report published late last month, the vaccine produces effective and strong antibodies in adolescents.
