LAHORE: Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique inaugurated a seven-day anti-polio drive by administering polio vaccine to innocent children in Union Council 83 slums. Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique visited the dispensary at UC83 and inspected the medical facilities. Talking to media on the occasion, Khawaja Salman Rafique said that polio is a national issue for which we all have to play our role. More than 5 million innocent children in seven districts of Punjab will be vaccinated against polio. Innocent children will also be vaccinated on the entry and exit routes of seven districts of Punjab. He said that in order to eradicate polio, it was necessary to go beyond politics. During the anti-polio drive, the officers have been directed to achieve the goal. The anti-polio drive will be launched in all the union councils of Lahore, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad and more than 17,800 polio teams are participating in the drive. More than 39,000 workers of the health department will be on duty during the polio eradication campaign in seven districts of Punjab while the US needs all the provinces to work together for effective eradication of polio. Deputy Commissioners have been directed to ensure a clear target during the polio eradication campaign.
