TRAINING COURSE ON EARLY DETECTION AND MANAGEMENT OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT CASES

As a part of KEMCAANA post-symposium activities and a pre-conference workshop of Asia Pacific Conference of Pediatrics (APCP), Department of Paediatric Medicine King Edward Medical University, in collaboration with PPA (Lahore) PPA (Child Rights Group), UNICEF, and PAHCHAAN, conducted a 2-days training workshop on *”Early Detection & Management of Child Abuse & Neglect Cases.
The workshop was hosted by Prof. Dr. Haroon Hamid (Chairman Paediatrics KEMU, Chairperson PPA Lahore) and facilitated by Dr. Naeem Zafar (President PAHCHAAN, President-Elect PPA Punjab), Dr. Asif Hashmi, Dr. Muhammad Moaz Convener PPA Lahore, and Ms. Faria Rehman.
The workshop was attended by participants from Pediatric Medicine & Surgery, Preventive Pediatrics, Child Psychiatry, Community Medicine, and postgraduate residents from affiliated hospitals of KEMU.
The workshop covered two days, interactive presentations by facilitators, and group activities.
Prof Khalid Masood Gondal (T. I, Pride of Performance) Vice-Chancellor KEMU graced the occasion with his presence during the concluding ceremony and distributed shields among facilitators and organizers. He agreed to the need of the Institutional Child Protection Committee & Unit and to facilitate starting a course on Child Protection by the University.
