Lahore ( ) A seminar on “Promotion of Teaching of Islam, Peace, Harmony and Tolerance” was organized by the Directorate of Student Affairs at the Township Campus of University of Education, Lahore. The renowned religious scholar Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi was the Chief Guest while Vice Chancellor, University of Education, Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I) presided over the seminar.
Addressing the seminar, Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi said that in the Holy Qur’an, Allah Almighty said, “The blessed life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the best example for you.” Or the axis is being made and from the blessed life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) we see many manifestations of harmony and tolerance, such as when the Holy Prophet (PBUH) came to Madinah he established brotherhood between the Muhajireen and the Ansar, this brotherhood is basically an attitude in which he treats an Ansari Muhajir as kindly as he treats his brother. He said that in a society where there is no harmony and tolerance, those societies are destroyed and this harmony should be for people of all religions, sects and schools of thought living in a society because that is what Islamic teachings teach us. If we look at our beloved homeland today, we feel that the peace situation in the country has been deteriorating for the last 40 years, mainly due to lack of harmony and intolerance. Therefore, we have to promote harmony and tolerance in the society in the light of Islamic teachings in order to achieve the goal of establishing lasting peace.

Therefore, our attitude, actions and affairs should be role models for others. Our job is not only to study science or other subjects but also to understand the blessed life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and ensure its implementation so that we can build a better society.
