Wasim Bari contracts coronavirus, hospitalized with breathing issues

KARACHI: Former national team cricket player Waseem Bari has been admitted to hospital for medical treatment after being tested positive for coronavirus.

According to the medical reports, the former cricketer was rushed to hospital after his condition worsened. Sources privy to the hospital said that Bari was having difficulty in breathing due to which he is being given oxygen.

Sources said that Wasim Bari is having infection in his lungs.

It is pertinent here to mention that Wasim Bari played 81 Tests and 51 ODIs for Pakistan. The former cricketer is also the director of High Performance Center Karachi.

On the other hand, Pakistan reported 34 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 544,813. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 11,657.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 1,599 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
