There was also a change, the Nawaz Sharif government ended and Imran Khan took over the Annan government While General Bajwa was the commander of the Pakistan Army, the situation went well for some time because the government of Ashraf Ghani was running in Afghanistan, but then there was a sudden change.
They rose up and occupied many cities including Kabul, Ashraf Ghani fled the country, at that time there was Imran Khan’s government in Pakistan, his government greatly facilitated the safe exit of the world from Afghanistan. Which was praised by the world, now the Imran government decided to go with the Afghan Taliban, then the most important aspect came to the fore. Until Ashraf Ghani’s government, TTP did not have safe havens, so operations for TTP were not possible in Pakistan. Afghan government started talks with Taliban regarding TTP. It is obvious that the Pakistan Army was also aware of these negotiations and was also a part of them, while Barrister Saif, who belongs to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was playing the role of front man in these negotiations on behalf of the federal government of Pakistan. Even when Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri was killed in the American attack, Barrister Saif along with his team was in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. It is a fact that the Imran government disarmed the TTP with the consent of the then military leadership. allowed to come to Pakistan.
But the people of TTP reached Pakistan without being completely disarmed. And after reaching here, TTP started terrorist activities again, the policy adopted during Imran era was a strategic blunder. On the other hand, it cannot be denied that even before the Imran government, written agreements were made with the TTP, ceasefires were also held and these agreements were also broken. As a result of these negotiations, TTP people arrived in Pakistan, but they were not unarmed. What happened was that the leadership of the army also changed. The new PDM government also asked the TTP to accept the Constitution of Pakistan and disarm under the law, but the TTP not only refused to comply but also continued to demand the implementation of Sharia law.
A major turning point in the story came when Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri was killed in an American attack in Afghanistan, the Afghan Taliban reacted strongly to it, and the Afghan Taliban changed their thinking and strategy due to the use of Pakistani soil. changed and that the Afghan Taliban’s trust in the Pakistan government has decreased, even Afghan Defense Minister Mullah Yaqoob accused Pakistan of allowing Pakistan to use its airspace. had assured that they will not allow their land to be used against Pakistan, but now they have got the justification, now Pakistan should not be cowed.
